Permanent Hair Dye

Oiamiga permanent hair dyes are just that, permanent. So we know it's important to get it right. Keep scrolling for permanent colour tips and advice. If you want help choosing your perfect shade, checkout our colour selector or talk to us - we're happy to help. (It's literally our job)

Greys greys, go away

If you choose to cover your greys, Oiamiga will do the trick. But if you have particularly stubborn greys, here's a few ways to maximise grey coverage.

FIRST: Turn up the heat. While your colour is developing, cover your hair with cling film and wrap it in a towel or woolly hat (either will work). This will keep your head toasty warm and help the colour develop.

SECOND: If you’re still struggling, check out our sister range Tints of Nature’s Hydrate Treatment to soften grey hair for the most intense coverage. Plus with our shared basket you can checkout with your Tints of Nature treatment and your Oiamiga hair dye all at once and it'll be shipped together.

Greys Greys Go Away

Try before you (fully) dye

Indecisive about your colour choice? The only way to know exactly what results you'll get, is by doing a strand test. Just mix up a small amount of the formulation and apply to a small section of your hair. Leave it to develop for the recommended time, rinse off and see what you think. No nasty surprises here!

If you want to get a little creative, all of our colours are inter-mixable. So the possibilities are endless. But you might want to do a strand test with your new formula, before you commit.

Try Before You Dye 2

Play it safe

At any time, you could react to anything you eat or put on your skin. That's why we say play it safe and always do a skin test before you dye your hair. It's super easy:

  1. Wash and dry a small area of skin on the inside of your wrist or on the inside of your elbow.
  2. Apply a small amount of Colour Gel to your chosen area of skin.
  3. Allow to dry.
  4. Leave uncovered or pop an adhesive bandage over the area for two hours. If you see or feel any sign of reaction - redness, soreness, irritation or burning - rinse the area of skin immediately.
  5. After two hours wash the Colour Gel off your skin and keep an eye out for any sign of reaction as mentioned above for the next 48 hours. If you don’t experience any reaction - happy colouring!

If any sign of reaction occurs please do not use the product and, if symptoms persist, please consult your doctor or pharmacist for medical support.
